From the Beginning

Buxton came into my life by chance.
Well, not really. Two out of every five years, I travel a lot for my job. Scratching my deep-seeded Crazy Cat Lady itch has been a challenge to my sense of  responsibility. In my three-year-long stint mostly at home, I started fostering cats for the local humane society. This of course led to my friends and co-workers occasionally bringing me kittens to take care of as well. Buxton was one of those. He was found in a piece of equipment in a small boat yard at work, mewing his head off. I tried to get my co-workers to put him in a box in the corner of the yard so his mom would move him, but they said it was too busy. He was too small to take to the animal shelter. So I took him home.
He was tiny, but large enough to spend a day alone.

I hoped.
