Cross-Country Adventures with a Cat

The drive from New Hampshire to central coast Oregon is a long one, so the Bux and I picked up a human friend for company and to share in the driving. While it was hard to decide who to hang out with more, Bux generally opted for the driver's lap - I think because he could hang out, but not get petted more than absolutely necessary.Adventure cat car travels

It could be hard to get comfortable on for such a long time in the car, but Buxton adapted.

And when we stopped for the night, he made sure to check every hotel room thoroughly for "bugs".

The Bux seemed particularly well-suited to some of the more beautiful regions of the United States.

Eventually, though, we said goodbye to our friend, and arrived on the Oregon coast. We had a little time camping and walking...

....and a little time in a rental house. It was in a great location, and had a lovely view, but something was wrong with the door - somehow, it would open for me, but not for the cat.

Eventually though, while I tried my hardest to get him to sail with us, I had to go to work and Buxton and I had to part. A short-term home option had fallen through at the last minute, and we were fortunate to find a home with the wife of a co-worker of a friend's husband (community is amazing). I left the Bux in good hands and sadly departed for the next few months at sea.
